Peter Hutchinson BSc FRICS
Peter is a Director and a co-founder of HMC.
Peter started his career at the London Borough of Kingston after graduating from Reading University. He moved on to join leading consultants Herring Baker Harris, where he worked for 14 years, rising to head the West End offices department and becoming a main board director, before leaving to help start HMC.
Peter specialises in agency and landlord and tenant matters and has been involved in a number of high profile transactions throughout his career. These include the redevelopment of National Farmers’ Union 90,000 sq ft headquarters in Knightsbridge, continued asset management of the scheme including overseeing the comprehensive refurbishment and pre-letting to Emirates NDB and the purchase (and subsequent sale and lease-back) of a 55,000 sq ft headquarters building in Victoria for Premier Oil plc. Peter also advises the Evelyn Estate on its large Rathbone Place/Gresse Street holdings in the West End, including the restructure of its property interests to facilitate large scale redevelopment in conjunction with JV partner Derwent London, and the subsequent letting of completed schemes such as Charlotte Building.
He is also experienced in landlord and tenant disputes, handling many rent review and lease renewal/restructuring negotiations and is on the RICS panel of approved arbitrators and independent surveyors, receiving appointments from the President of the RICS to act as arbitrator or expert in rent review disputes.
